Anyone have any suggestions for what to do on my 7 day holiday in Prague?

I'm heading there in two weeks, just booked it today and my boyfriend's paying. I can't wait!!! Any suggestions for things to see and do will be greatly appreciated!

  1. You could always look at the ceiling of your hotel room. You never know it might have a mirror on it!!
  2. its a lovely city there is so much to do and you will love your stay, just take a look at this site. http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-191501726-prague_vacations-i
  3. A good guide book such a Fodors or Lonely planet will guide has what you are looking for, a 7 day suggested schedule. This amount of time will give you a chance to do a couple of day trips, my suggestion is Kutna Hora, don't miss the chapel of bones, and Cesky Krumlov, a very scenic medieval town, with a nice castle and a landmark round tower.
  4. There is so much to see in prague you should search on line for ideas. One thing i will say is beware of pickpockets and rip off taxi drivers(i found AAA taxis to be the best). Also at night in the city centre there are a lot of unsavoury characters hanging around so be careful. One more thing if you are travelling on public transport remember to stamp your ticket when you get on or you could be fined.Otherwise its a beautiful place and im sure you will love it.Have a great time.
  5. Sleep
  6. drink drink drink eat and then drink some more. or you could do some sightseeing
  7. Invest in a DK Eyewitness Guide for Prague. This is extremely useful. Bring good walking shoes as much of the city centre is pedestrianised. Visit the castle, the Charles Bridge, walk around the Small Quarter, the Old Town Square .... it's all good. There are some interesting places outside of the city centre area too, like the old fortress of Vishyhrad (can't remember how to spell it) which has amazing views down the river over the city to the main castle. For great views, go up Petrin Hill into the park there, it's just lovely on a sunny day. You can walk, but you can also take the Funicular.
