How common is the english language in Prague/Czech Republic?
We plan to visit Prague as one of our Europe stop this year. But we only speak english. Would it be a problem in Prague if we only speak english? :)

- I don't know but they have those Crazy Hostels over there
- It will be more difficult than the cities in Western Europe. There are some people who speak English, but German is much more common. If you stay in the tourist areas, you shouldn't have to many issues.
- No, not a problem at all. I've been to Prague a few times and spoke English only, it was very welcome. Very peaceful spirit of the city, fabulous places, lots of tourists speaking English. you'll feel home! Have a good trip!
- not exactly an educated country of europe, but ive heard they can speak english a bit in hotells and restaurants.
- it is common, they do speak it, don't worry
- They are not exactly a welcoming people. When I was there the worst thing one could do to ask for directions was ask policemen. Do not. They start speaking in their own language and jesticulating harshly. Try to be very well informed yourself and be careful they they don't cheat you when giving you change.
