What are the best districts of Prague for elderly tourists?

Any recommendation which district of Prague is the best for spending our holidays this summer? We are going the whole family, me, my husbands, our two children and my elderly parents, so we would prefer a safe area and with easy access to the historical sights of Prague. Thanks

  1. When I go to Prague, I stay in the Hotel Rott just around the corner from the Old Town Square. Anywhere in that area is centrally located for the sightseeing attractions. It's pretty easy walking distance to Charles Bridge and the Castle and a fairly short walk to Wenceslaus Square. It's a flat area for walking as opposed to the area around the castle which is on a hill. Prague is very easy to get around in and has an excellent public transportation system.
  2. OK, so as you are traveling with your parents, I would not recommend the area of the Wenceslas Square, it's very crowded, many pubs, night life and even pick-pocketing. For your family, staying in the Old Town or the Lesser town would be ideal, I think that your parents will be interested in the history and architecture of Prague, there are many self catering apartments in buildings with elevators which are even more friendly for families than hotels. Here is a good article with a photo gallery that describes in depth each district of Prague and where it's better to stay, depending on each traveler: http://blog.kingwenceslas.co.uk/the-best-area-of-prague-to-stay-in/
